ICE RIB CHALLENGE: an adventure at high latitudes that has a taste for the impossible, but not for Davì (now a veteran of this kind of crossings) nor for the Partners, who have decided to support this fascinating undertaking: among them Nuova Jolly Marine , Quick. Simrad, Suzuki, Turkish Airlines. Davì will attempt to reach the American continent: along a route that will see him sail among the insidious ice of Iceland and Greenland, aboard a Nuova Jolly Prince (11m) rubber dinghy, aka Nautilus Explorer, specially set up for ocean navigation. adventure, powered by two Suzuki DF350A outboards, with known high technical performance, equipped with components of excellence.

He has sailed between Sicily, Balearic Islands, Spain, Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, USA .
Among the objectives of the raid is raising awareness of the protection of the marine environment, with particular attention to the fight against all forms of plastic pollution. For this purpose, the cutting participation of the IAS – CNR (Institute for the study of anthropogenic impacts and sustainability in the marine environment that belongs to the National Research Council) is of importance, which will conduct specific research on the presence of microplastics in water, both oceanic and Mediterranean.
ICE RIB CHALLENGE is also cultural and territorial promotion of the countries involved and above all Sicily’s “ambassador” in the world.
The company is in fact sponsored by the Sicily Region Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment.
For the first time, Davì will not have a real crew with him. The commander intends to carry out the feat mainly alone, with some “relay” alternations. Decision linked to different reasons: security, difficulty, responsibility.
In numbers, the Ice Rib Challenge will consist of a total of approximately: 6,600 nautical miles, 75 days of navigation (including stops), 500/600 hours of navigation, 24/30 stages… and above all a lot of courage!
